oh, finally. http://browsershots.org/ See what that fancy new website looks like in a variety of browsers!
Well, I’ve finally got drupal up and running (again, second time is a charm, correct?). It’s kind of bare bones at the moment – no portfolio, not much content, and the design is kind of funky. However, the goal is to create my dossier/portfolio using drupal. I’ll be able to control access and I think (hope!) that I’ll be able
a little progress with drupal. I can’t say that I’ve actually been working on this for 2 weeks. More like 2 days max total. Anyhow, I loaded the drupal zen template which is designed to be css templating. Whew! I might actually be able to have a site that is not a cookie cutter. Funny, I’ve stumbled across a few
…just my opinion and as a cms, drupal looks good, especially structurally, but overall, it seems completely backwards in terms of design sensibility. aargh. If I can make it look decent (i.e., not cookiecutter) I’ll post a screenshot. This is a little bit old but still a good short overview of the new MS Expression Web Designer (think a much improved version of FrontPage):http://webstandards.raquedan.com/?p=107
Until IE becomes more standards compliant and all browsers began adhering strictly to the w3c coding standards, it will be nearly impossible to create one set of coding that renders beautifully across the various browsers. Many people do use one style sheet, but then include code specifically to work around junky IE. Anyhow, until that time, tables are still not
So, I’m still investigating a CMS (Content Management System) for the libraries web editors. A CMS is just a easy way to get content onto the web, without having to do much in the way of design. Blogger in some senses is a very primitive (primitive because it is limited in what it can do) CMS. Unfortunately, my quick and
