So, this should be super easy if ALL of the photo albums in Facebook work the same way but they do not (What?!?! … ) In the Profile Photos album, there is no way to move a photo to a different album…. but there is a workaround of sorts. Click on profile photo to go to the Profile Photos album.

There are a few different ways to download a video from facebook, none of which are built in to facebook. You can dig around in the internet cache for (IE) or Firefox or if you use Firefox you can add this wonderful little GreaseMonkey script that creates a download link right at the video in facebook. Whoa, now that is

Facebook Commandments

robinna/ August 7, 2009/ social media, my projects, question of the day, Training/ 2 comments

A colleague and I were having an interesting chat about facebook in the workplace. I have my own rules (and practices) for facebook, given that my “friends” are a diverse mix of colleagues, friends + family (some even cross those lines) and drawn from the various areas and interests in my life. Given that I’ve articulated these verbally many times,

Does anyone use a print dictionary anymore?

robinna/ August 9, 2008/ Libraries, question of the day, life 2.0+/ 0 comments

When I started in my current gig, I inherited a bunch of print materials — old technical manuals, old procedures manuals, old everything (I had 3 different editions of the LC Authority User Manual!), dictionaries, printer manuals, workshop/training manuals, and more. This accumulation occurred naturally, and as staff decided they no longer needed print resources given that a more recent

Developing your professional digital identity or personal branding

robinna/ August 8, 2008/ software, social media, meetups/conferences, question of the day, web 2.0+, life 2.0+/ 0 comments

Which domains do you need? Web Worker Daily answers this timely question. I just had a conversation with a colleague at lunch yesterday about digital identity and developing a digital presence. One step in developing a digital identity is to figure out what your website moniker should be, which then of course can be used for email, too. I’ve been

So, I thought instead of just answering questions via my mailbox or the comments, I would take those questions and expand them into a little post.
